Club Calco is the nom de plume of Manhattan based DJ & musician Kelle Calco. Combining his seamless style of blending with a vast musical knowledge of the past & present, and a keen sense of FUN, you’ll find him sonically styling corners of the city that the same feet don’t often cross. From blending rock & roll and nu-disco at the Dream Hotel’s exclusive underground clubhouse Electric Room, sharing the booth with hip hop celebs such as Drake and Wiz Khalifa at VIP Room, weaving throwbacks and guilty pleasures in the Rec Room at No. 8, sweating out beach side summer jams at Surf Lodge in the Hamptons, or searing through epic 5 hour deep house sets at Le Baron NYC, there have been few nights over the past 7 years, that you couldn’t find a Calco beat of some kind somewhere in the city that never sleeps.
Kelle was also called upon to curate a live music series for the legendary Don Hill’s and Hudson Hotel while he fronted his own Rolling Stones-esque rock outfit The Colored Boys which took to notable stages at Highline Ballroom, Brooklyn Bowl & The Bowery Hotel. He’s been featured in publications such as Zink, Paper, New York Post, Creem, New York Mag and Guest Of A Guest. “CONNOISSEUR OF DEEP, INFECTIOUS DANCE GROOVES WITH A FEEL-GOOD ATMOSPHERE.”
That’s how Marc Montoya describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go to take on risks to bend genres, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey raised in Long Beach, California, Marc has always had a passion for music. Marc began Dj’ing at the age of 16 at local house parties and school functions. Having grown up on his older cousins eclectic combination of funk, pop, synth-infused 80s… all which became infused with his own love for both hip-hop and video game tunes, Marc ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influences. Today, this translates into his sets where he picks apart and blends together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, essential slapping drums , brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling two step beat.
A very active individual of his current home of New York City, Marc is no stranger to the music scene. Though he loves playing in bars and nightclubs and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a former producer, pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically. Marc has successfully attempted to take what he has learned thus far, and create his own niche in the entertainment world that sets him apart from others.
